If you have recently purchased a new LCD or plasma TV or are considering purchasing a new TV, SmartView Digital can offer installation and set up of your equipment including wall mounting your screen. We have a number of fixed price solutions to suit most needs and we can offer full custom installation.
We have a number of bracket solutions including flat, swivel, cantilever and tilting brackets from major manufacturers as well as free standing “off the wall” units for mounting solutions that need a little more flexibility.
Our installers carry a wide selection of cables and connectors as standard stock. If interconnecting cables are required at time of installation these can be provided including component HDMI and a wide range of other video and audio cables. Our installers are also able to make some video and audio cables on site removing the problem of long, trailing cables. We also carry HDMI switches as standard stock.
If your AV equipment is going to be hidden in a cupboard or out of sight, we have a number of discreet RF solutions that allow you to control your equipment wherever it is hidden with the installation of a small sensor by your screen. We also have sensors that are designed to work with plasma, avoiding any interference.
We also provide a full custom-tailored solution that includes mounting, installation and set-up of equipment, multi-zone audio, surround sound, home cinema and much more. Please visit our Custom AV section for further information.
For a basic screen mount we offer a number of fixed price solutions for screens up to 50”. You can also pay a bit extra and upgrade to a tilt or swivel mounting bracket.
Installation Process
We will discuss with you your request and give you our recommendations regarding the screen mounting height, viewing distance of your plasma or LCD screen, your seating arrangement and whether the wall is suitable to take the weight.
Depending on your installation type the cables will either be run in discreet surface mounted trunking or will be chased into the wall. We will of course check the wall prior to installation, for any imbedded cables, wires or pipes.
Upon completion we will make good all chasing (deep chasing may require two visits) and holes ready for redecoration.
If you are having a home cinema installation we will advise on the best position for the speakers and the best run for the leads and speaker cable taking into consideration your room layout.
Fixings
When we mount your screen, our primary concern is to make absolutely sure that your screen is securely fixed to the wall. We will always "over-fix" screens using extra fixings if required. We provide all the necessary bolts to do this, always using the correct fixings for the type of wall - our installers carry all fixings required for most installations.
Future proofing
It is important that, if you have your cables chased into the wall, you have taken into consideration any equipment you may want to add to your system in the future. As part of our service we’ll discuss this with you and give our best advice on the types of cables needed to future-proof your system.

1x HDMI V1.3: for all HD ready equipment
2x Cat5: Cat5e can be used for video or audio and control of equipment.
5x Video cables or Component cable. The video cables can be used for games consels and other video equipment
1x SCART if required
1x Coax CT100 type: providing an RF loop and Freeview or freesat , can also be used to control SKY if Set top box out of view.

This option will require a site survey to determine the most unobtrusive way to carry out the installation.
