Digital and Analogue TV Reception Conditions
Most of Christchurch is served by Rowridge on the IOW and Hannington transmitters providing good signals although channel 5 is provided by fawley, as with anywhere your signal will depend on the lay of the land with trees bulidings etc causing signal problem, in these cases we can point at another transmitter although you may need an amp dependent on location or you can consider the new freesat service from the BBC and ITV is a good alternative to Freeview. A freesat digital box will allow you to watch standard definition digital TV on your existing analogue TV much the same as Freeview, but freesat can also provide free to air HD channels from the BBC and ITV. To watch HD programmes you’ll need an HD Ready TV connected to a freesat HD digital box with an HDMI cable, or TV with freesat HD built in. Outlying areas Television Reception Conditions
In the villages around Christchurch the situation is much the same, most of the area has good television signals but there are exceptions where hills, buildings and the lay of the land block signals. In these cases we can point towards another transmitter or use the freesat option.
